Wow, talk about flashy, the perfect size, and a temperament to match! Meet Gem, a 2021 model Tobiano Gypsy Vanner gelding standing a strong 13.2 hands. With his beautiful black and white coloring, thick bushy mane and tail, sturdy build, and all the looks you want in a Gypsy Vanner, Gem is one that is sure to catch everyone’s attention. His convenient size makes him easy to get on and off of, while his sturdy build makes him a comfortable size for a variety of riders. But his looks and size are only the beginning of what makes Gem such a neat gelding. Add in his willing, want-to-please attitude, kid-friendly nature, and love for people, and you have the kind that is simply enjoyable to be around. Gem has been ridden Western, English, and bareback and takes each discipline in stride. Whether you want to ride around the indoor arena, enjoy a beautiful day in the outdoor arena, or head out for a relaxing trail ride, Gem is happy to go along with the program. He has nice, comfortable gaits, neck reins, side passes, knows his leads, and has a lead change. He is willing and responsive without making things complicated and tries hard to please his rider. And for those who enjoy jumping, Gem has another fun side to offer! He loves to jump and brings that same willing, want-to-please attitude to the jumps. Whether you are looking to get started in jumping or are a more advanced rider searching for a smaller horse to enjoy jumping with, Gem is certainly one worth taking a look at. His handy size, willing nature, and versatility make him an interesting prospect for riders who enjoy a little bit of everything. Out on the trail is another place where Gem is right at home. He has been ridden for miles through the woods, across open fields, and up and down hills. He will ride out alone or with a group and is comfortable anywhere you put him. Ride him in the front, let him settle into the middle, or bring up the back—Gem does not mind. He takes things in stride and continues on with that same willing attitude and desire to please. Gem has also been ridden along small county roads, giving him experience with the everyday sights and sounds that come with riding outside the arena. He has also been exposed to jugs, tarps, and whips, adding to his well-rounded riding experience. One of our favorite things about Gem is his personality. He genuinely enjoys people and loves attention. He is often the first one to meet you at the gate and has that friendly, be-by-your-side personality that makes you want to spend time with him even when you are not riding. Around the barn, Gem is a gentleman to groom, tack up, and take to the wash bay. He is also comfortable in the pasture by himself or turned out with a group. Gem offers that hard-to-find combination of flashy Gypsy Vanner looks, a handy 13.2-hand size, versatility, jumping ability, trail experience, and a kind, willing temperament. Whether you are looking for a family horse, a trail partner, a smaller horse to enjoy jumping with, or simply an equine friend that enjoys being with you, Gem has a lot to offer. From spending time together at the barn to enjoying a ride in the arena or heading down the trail, Gem is the kind that makes every part of horse ownership enjoyable.
