Hickory

AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE SALE

If you have been looking for a golden Palomino that is as enjoyable to ride as he is to look at, Hickory is one we are excited to offer. With his rich golden coat, big dapples, three white socks, and that clean white snip, he is the kind that naturally catches your eye wherever he goes. Hickory is a 2021 model standing a strong 14.1 hand AQHA Palomino gelding. Being a direct son of Hall of Fame Pale Face Dunit, and carrying Hollywood Dun It and Topsail Whiz on his papers, he has the breeding, the mind, and the ability to go in just about any direction—from trail riding to weekend shows in reining, ranch classes, or just being a dependable all-around horse. He has been on miles of trail rides and has seen all kinds of country. From state road traffic to quiet back roads, he takes everything in stride with a calm, willing attitude. He will cross creeks and water without hesitation, step over logs, go up and down hills, and ride through open fields or thick woods like it is nothing. He is the kind you can just get on and go enjoy. In the arena, Hickory is just as solid. He knows his leads, picks them up with ease, has a nice lead change, a good spin, and smooth, comfortable gaits from a walk, trot, extended trot, to a nice, collected lope. He has a soft, willing mouth, rides around quietly, and responds well to his rider. Whether you want to go to work or just relax on a loose rein, he is happy to meet you where you are at. In the barn, Hickory is a true gentleman. He is easy to catch, good to handle, stands tied, and gets along well with other horses or by himself. He does well in the pasture whether turned out alone or in a group and is the same horse every time you take him out. Out riding, he fits wherever you need him—front, middle, or back of the group—and stays the same horse. He is confident on his own and does not rely on other horses. Ride him western, English, or bareback… with a bridle or even bridle less. He is that kind of broke and that kind of minded. He has also been used to checking cows and riding fence lines, showing he is not just good looking, he is handy and willing when it is time to go to work. Hickory is up to date on his vaccinations, deworming, and shoeing, and is ready for his next home.
