Wow—who likes a nice dun with a dorsal stripe down his back? But with Ice, his looks are only the beginning. Show him in the morning, ride him in the afternoon, and let the grandkids enjoy him that evening. That is the kind of versatility, mindset, and personality Ice brings to the table. Ice is a 2020 model, 14.2-hand AQHA Dun Gelding, and he is certainly true to his registered name, Smooth As Ice. Smooth in his gaits, smooth in his training, and cool-minded no matter what you ask of him—the name could not fit him any better. He has a mindset that is second to none. Show him something new the first time, and he takes it in stride. He simply does not mind where you take him, what you ask him to do, or who is in the saddle. From a kid, beginner, or senior rider wanting a safe and enjoyable partner to an advanced rider wanting to go perform in the reining or ranch show pen, Ice knows how to adjust to his rider and take care of them. And did we mention the breeding? Ice is an own son of Hall of Fame stallion SG Frozen Enterprise, with over $274,000 in earnings and offspring earnings exceeding $5 million. On the bottom side, his pedigree goes back to more Hall of Fame greats, including Smart Little Lena and Hollywood Dun It. Ice is also enrolled in the NRBC and has his NRHA Competition License, making him an exciting option for someone wanting to take advantage of his breeding, training, and ability in the show pen. He has the looks, mind, training, pedigree, and versatility all wrapped into one package. Ice is the true definition of a versatile horse. He loves attention and genuinely wants to take care of whoever is in the saddle. You can enjoy his training and ability one day and let the kids or grandkids enjoy him the next. That kind of horse is hard to find. In the arena, Ice knows his leads, has smooth transitions, a nice smooth lead change, a good turnaround/spin, and a smooth sliding stop. His gaits are extremely comfortable and easy to sit, from his walk and trot to his extended trot and lope. He has been ridden in both indoor and outdoor arenas and will ride Western, English, bareback, and even bridle less. Outside the arena, Ice has been on miles of trails through the woods, across open fields, over logs, up and down hills, and through creeks and water without batting an eye. Ride him out alone or with a group. Put him in the front, middle, or back of the trail ride—it simply does not matter to him. He just goes where you point him and takes it all in stride. Ice is good with jugs, tarps, whips, and plenty of everyday sights and sounds. He has been ridden along state roads and smaller country roads and is traffic safe. He is also the kind that does not need to be ridden every day to stay the same. Around the barn, Ice is a gentleman. He is good in the stall, stands nicely for grooming and tacking, and is good in the wash bay. Turn him out by himself or with a group, and he does well either way. He loves attention and is often one of the first to meet you at the gate. Ice is up to date on his vaccinations, deworming, and dental care. If Ice sounds like the kind of partner, you have been searching for, we would love the opportunity to introduce you to him.
