Are you looking for your next show horse—one that can step into the reining or ranch show pen now and has the breeding and quality to become a broodmare later on? Meet Rapunzel, a beautiful 2016 model, 14.3 hand palomino AQHA mare with the experience, pedigree, talent, and personality to offer a little bit of everything. Rapunzel comes with over $20,000 in show earnings, giving her the proven experience to match her impressive pedigree. She is an own daughter of Wimpys Little Freckl, going back to Hall of Fame Wimpys Little Step and Nu Chex To Cash. On the bottom side, her pedigree goes back to Hall of Fame Smart Little Lena. With bloodlines like these and a proven show record of her own, Rapunzel has a lot to offer both in the show pen and later on in a broodmare program. Under saddle, Rapunzel is smooth, trained, and enjoyable to ride. She has a very nice walk, trot, extended trot, and lope, knows her leads, has a good lead change, and has a nice sliding stop. Ride her in the indoor arena or take her outside to the outdoor arena, she goes to work and takes it all in stride. We have also taken Rapunzel to a couple of obstacle course competitions, where she handled the different obstacles well and did a nice job. We have taken her to a couple of local reining competitions as well, where she performed well and even brought home a first-place finish. Whether you want to enjoy a local competition or take her back into the show pen, she has the experience and ability to go in several different directions. Rapunzel has also been exposed to jugs and tarps and has been out on the trails, through water, and along state roads. She is more than just a show mare and has been given the opportunity to get outside the arena and experience different surroundings. One of our favorite things about Rapunzel is the way she knows the difference between work and relaxation. When you saddle her up, she is all business and ready to do her job. Back at the barn, she turns into a true Barbie-doll personality. She loves attention, enjoys being around people, and is the kind that wants to meet you at the gate. She is good to groom, tack, and wash and is simply enjoyable to have around the barn. We feel Rapunzel could be a great fit for a variety of riders. Whether you are a beginner getting started in the show world or an advanced rider looking to add another experienced mare to your show string, she has the training and experience to make her worth taking a look at. From reining to ranch classes, we believe she still has plenty to offer in the show pen. And when her showing days are finished, Rapunzel’s story does not have to end there. With her proven show earnings, strong pedigree, good looks, and sweet personality, we believe she could also make an exciting addition to a broodmare band. We are good friends with Rapunzel’s breeder, who has had her for most of her life and was also responsible for putting her show earnings on her. Having that history behind her gives us the opportunity to know more about where she came from and the experience, she has had along the way. Show her now. Enjoy her along the way. Breed her later. Rapunzel offers a combination that can be hard to find in one mare—proven show experience, pedigree, ability, and a personality that makes you want to spend time with her.
