Jimbo
2017 Draft-Cross Gelding
16.3 hh Black
Buckeye’s Jimbo is a 5 year old, strong 16.3 hand Percheron cross gelding. He has his long, beautiful black mane and tail, nice refined body to go with his sweet and loving personality.
He is not only a fun and smooth horse to ride, he is also equally well trained to drive too. He will be anything that you have always wanted in a horse and will look like that fairy-tale horse that has only ever appeared in your dreams.
He came to us and went through our program with flying colors and loves to learn anything new that you bring to him. He is also just as happy doing the same thing each and everyday as he does not get bored and really just loves to please. No matter how often or how little you work with Jimbo, he will always be the same horse each time you get him out to work with him.
He can be kept out in the field or in a stall and does not have any bad habits anywhere. He gets along with other horses well, and will go into a mixed herd with ease. He will stand as a true gentleman in the cross ties and also single ties just as well.
He may be tall, but he is a true teddy bear at heart. He will be a horse that a first time rider can hop on and know that he is going to take care of them, either in the arena or down the trail. Nothing seems to get this boy excited as we have tried with our guns, whips, tarps and plastic jugs that he took to with no problem. He can be ridden English, Western and is a fun ride to take bareback with his rocking horse canter and smooth little jog.
He will side-pass over to any object for you to mount from so that it makes it easy to take him off the property to go for a trail ride. He has had a lot of experience on the trail and will go out alone or does great in a group. He will go quietly in heavy traffic, he crosses creeks and rivers and will walk calmly over any type of bridge. He has seen a lot of different animals on the trail and on the farm and does not get bothered by any of them.
He is wearing shoes all around because of where we ride and he does great for the farrier and the vet as well. No matter what you are looking to do with Jimbo, he will put his whole heart into what you ask of him. If he is the horse that you have been looking for, please give Duane Yoder of Buckeye Acre Farm a call.
