Cowboy is a 2019 Sorrel AQHA/APHA gelding standing a strong 14.1 hands tall with a sharp white blaze, two white socks, and a kind, willing expression that fits his personality perfectly. He is built to last and has the mind, training, and experience that make him stand out from the crowd. One thing we truly appreciate about Cowboy is that he stays consistent. He does not need to be ridden every single day to remain the same gentle and dependable horse. Pull him out after time off and he rides right off the same every time. He is the same horse in a week, a month, or even after a break — honest, steady, and ready to go to work or hit the trail. Cowboy’s pedigree speaks for itself, going back to Hall of Fame bloodlines Smart Little Lena and High Brow Cat. Along with being AQHA registered, he is also registered with the APHA. He has spent countless hours on the trails and has seen about everything you can imagine. From steep hills, creeks, logs, and rough terrain to open fields and wooded trails, Cowboy takes everything in stride with confidence and a calm attitude. He has also been used around the farm to bring in horses from the back pasture, check fences, and work around cattle. Cowboy has been exposed to traffic on state roads and quiet county roads and manages it all with ease. He has experience riding in indoor and outdoor arenas and has been ridden Western, English, bareback, and bridle less. No matter the setting, he remains willing, responsive, and enjoyable to ride. He is also good with tarps, whips, jugs, flags, and other common obstacles, showing his level head and confidence in new situations. He will even lay down on cue for you, highlighting both his training and willing attitude. He has also been used to carry flags, open and close gates, and navigating busy environments where he has to think and stay focused, and he never gets overwhelmed or reactive. Cowboy is the type that stays soft in the bridle, listens to his rider, and tries his best in every situation asked of him. His gaits are exceptionally smooth from his walk to trot, extended trot, and canter. He picks up both leads correctly and is suitable for riders of all levels. Cowboy aims to please and is the same kind-hearted horse every time you step into the barn. In the barn he is a complete gentleman. He stands quietly for the farrier, enjoys grooming, is easy in the wash bay, and is well mannered for everyday handling. He is respectful on the ground, easy to catch, and a pleasure to be around. Cowboy is current on vaccinations, deworming, dental care, and shoeing.
